I just couldn't think of a title for this post. But when one of the kids started a rare whine-fest '....you promised you would fry something today etc. etc.' I had the title (lame as it may be).
Had we gone to Pune this year, we'd be enjoying a wada-pav right this minute.
Our favourite wada-pav comes from two small no-name places: one close to the Best Western Pride Hotel and the other at the intersection of Senapati Bapat Road and the road leading to Patrakar Nagar.
Much as we enjoy the wada-pav from these places, we cannot bear to eat them there.
Something about that ambiance and the sanitary conditions gets in the way. We enjoy them better in the comfort of our home.

A must-have with wada-pav is lashni-chi chutney (dry garlic chutney) much like Nupur's.
This will tide me over till my next visit to Punya Nagari.

This wada-pav is crossing the pond as my entry to MBP:Street Food, hosted this month by Sia.

I learnt making wada-pav from a friend of mine from Mumbai and it is yummy. I have been thinking of making wada-pav for the longest time now ....I better make it soon.
TC, your wada pav is making me crave for it so much! Thats a very authentic looking pav I must say...:)
Love it, I made this last month too. So yummy. Great entry TC!:))
Yummmmmmm :) great entry!
though at home i use 'controlled' amount of chili in the vada, i can gobble quite a few at joshiwade as hot as they may be ;)
Your vada paav looks so much more appealing than the ones we eat in Real Ice cream chat place in Santa Clara. Good one.
I feel honoured. Although I must admit that I have not tried it with lasun chutney and it looks delidious. Looks like I have a weekend project then.
I have to ask, how is your version different? I never use onion or lemon juice in batatawada, and it has been so long since I ate a real 'wada pav' on a real street that I cannot even remember if it has onion in it. And is this Potoba guy real? He says he hasn't tried it with lasun chutney - how can that be!!!
I so want to make a trip to Bombay just to eat the street food again!
Now, if only I can have a couple of these for breakfast...
Wada Pav and that chutney look deadly! Yum:P
BTW, I have almost exactly the same bedcover & its one of my favourites!
I love wada pav, but I think I love the lasun chatni even better! if thats possible....
I just love vada pav. Too good.
Wada Pav and that chutney look yummy.
